Range Rover Sport Electric revealed with 543 hp and 850 Nm
Range Rover has unveiled the 2027 Sport Electric, an EV sibling to the combustion‑engined Sport that keeps the same looks and offers a 118.5‑kWh battery, up to 609 km WLTP range and Solihull production.

Range Rover has revealed the 2027 Range Rover Sport Electric, an all‑electric version of the Sport that closely resembles its combustion‑engined counterpart but replaces the engine with a twin‑motor electric powertrain.
Range Rover says the Sport Electric produces a combined 543 hp and 850 Nm of torque, which the company claims out‑torques any Range Rover model to date. The company quotes a 0–60 mph (96 km/h) time of 4.3 seconds.
Under the floor sits a 118.5‑kWh lithium‑ion battery on an 800‑volt electrical architecture. Range Rover quotes up to 378 miles (609 km) on the WLTP cycle and says a 10‑minute charge on a suitably powerful charger can add up to 136 miles (220 km). A 10–80% charge takes about 22 minutes.
JLR says the Sport Electric’s torque delivery is 50 percent faster than the larger Range Rover and that the Sport’s body is 61 percent stiffer than the plug‑in hybrid model while the centre of gravity sits 73 mm lower, changes the company says aid dynamics.
Despite the focus on on‑road performance, Range Rover emphasised the Sport Electric retains serious off‑road capability. The company says the SUV can wade through up to 900 mm of water, tackle 45‑degree inclines and was tested at the Carrara marble quarries in Italy, climbing to Gioia Peak at more than 914 metres above sea level.
Range Rover also fitted a bespoke driving soundtrack for the Sport Electric, saying the noises were designed to make the different drive modes feel more engaging.
Production will take place at JLR’s Solihull plant in the UK on the same assembly lines used for the combustion‑engined and PHEV Sport models. Range Rover positions the Sport Electric to compete with rivals such as the Porsche Cayenne Electric while retaining the marque’s off‑road hardware.
Range Rover provided the technical figures and performance claims above; we will update with local launch details and pricing when they are announced.
