EVgo announces 750 kW charger that it says could recharge EVs in around ten minutes
EVgo has revealed a next‑generation DC fast charger rated up to 750 kW. The company says it could cut high‑speed charging sessions to roughly ten minutes and will include NACS, touchless payment and dynamic power sharing.

EVgo has announced a next‑generation charging system capable of delivering up to 750 kW of power, which the company says could reduce recharging times to around ten minutes.
That peak output is a large jump from typical DC fast chargers, which are rated between 150 kW and 250 kW, and is more than twice the power of a 350 kW unit that currently represents one of the fastest options in the US.

EVgo says the system is expected to deliver the fastest charging experience in America, though the company frames the roughly ten‑minute figure as a potential outcome rather than a guaranteed result.
The next‑generation charger will use a NACS connector, incorporate a touchless payment interface and offer improved cable manoeuvrability, EVgo said.
"advanced hardware and firmware to bolster reliability and streamline the charging experience," said EVgo, the company.
EVgo also plans to employ dynamic power sharing, which the company says enables the charger to respond in real time and adjust output for different vehicle charge‑rate requirements during a session.
"exact output each vehicle needs throughout a charging session," said EVgo, the company.
The charger is expected to be unveiled in 2027, and EVgo described dynamic power sharing as "increasingly important as battery technology advances and charge rate variability widens across available vehicle models for consumers."
